How to apply to our ECE Programs:
Parents may apply at the DSUSD District Educational Center, ECE Office located at 47-950 Dune Palms Road in La Quinta. The office is located in the south building.

Complete the interest form today:

- Office staff will ask you basic questions to determine your ECE program eligibility.
- Family size and gross income
- Once it is determined which program is best suited for you, an application will be given to you to complete at home.
Head Start registration packets are available starting on April 27, 2026 until filled. CSPP registration packets are available from June 1, 2026 until filled.
A list of required documents is included in the application packet. Required documents are:
Head Start:
- Applicant’s Birth Certificate
- Medical Insurance Card: MediCal, IEHP, etc.
- Physical Exam with laboratory results for Lead and Hemoglobin
- TB skin test with results on card, or waiver on physical exam form
- Child’s immunization Record (yellow card) with the updated immunizations
- Income Verification Documents:
- Income Tax report for previous year
- One month of the most recent and consecutive check stubs
- Unemployment check stubs, award letters, or notice of action letters
- Passport to services for CalFresh and CalWorks benefits (document must include the 12 months prior to the application date, as well as the month of the application date)
- Proof of Address: light/gas bill indicating residency within our district

CSPP (California State Preschool Program):
- Child’s Birth Certificate and Birth Certificates of siblings (under 18 years of age) living a home
- Medical Insurance Card: MediCal, IEHP, etc.
- Physical Exam

- Child’s immunization Record (yellow card) with the updated immunizations
- Income Verification Documents:
- Income Tax report for previous year
- One month of the most recent and consecutive check stubs
